Job Description

Our eCommerce team is looking for solid editors/project managers for an ongoing project for Buying Guides. Candidates with UK English knowledge is a must!

Job Details:

Buying guides are highly in-depth, large-scale articles that cover all the possible variants in the purchase decision-making process. These are purely factual articles that have a well-formulated hierarchical structure and are approximately 1,500 – 2,500 words in length., depending on the type, as outlined by the style guide.

This is a full time project 30-40 hours per week. However, we are willing to take on part-time editors/project managers as well. We do require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.

Initially, I would hire you for the trial interview. The Interview trial is paid at $30 after oDesk fees. This is for successfully completing the trial.

Interview will consist of:

- Reading over the Style Guidelines
- Editing a completed Buying Guides
- Ensuring any US English is converted to UK English
- Editing all content to reflect the style guide preferred spelling and grammer
- Converting any US metrics to UK metrics
- Tracking (commenting) changes and why it was changed

User Benefits of Buying Guides:

Informs the reader about an individual product—or family of products—in great detail, including but not limited to its origins, various types, components/parts, and customization options

Shows the reader how to complete an action around the product(s)—whether it’s buying, selling, appraising, customizing, installing, buying or selling, etc.

Highlights the benefits of using the product (or family of products)
Ultimately, helps the reader come to a purchasing decision (Note that the writer does this by crafting a purely objective, factual article—without the injection of personal opinion.)
