I'm looking for one great video editor for steady work like what you see on http://www.youtube.com/user/swiftw
About 70% of the work we get is conceptual, i.e. no actor on a greenscreen or anything just voice + stock photos or stock video clips, usually about 3min to 5min. I have tons of stock photos, music, and footage and will provide whatever is needed, and voiceover will be provided production ready.
A typical video like
takes me about 10 hours on average, about 5 hours focused work roughing in the stage i.e. covering the timeline with stock photos, then another 5 hours dealing with transitions that's less exciting, I usually am watching TV as it is a bit repetitive for that part, then I spend a bit with titles etc.
If you're experienced, it's easy work.
If you're a rookie, you'll be tempted to get artistic, but these have to be boring enough to make the content the star i.e. if we notice the editing, that's not good, it should be just exciting enough to hold the audience attention and tell the story, and boring enough to not call attention to itself and make us break focus on the story/content/message.
If you're up for it, I'm looking for pricing like this:
$X base for first minute + $y per 30 seconds thereafter, based on 2 rounds of notes. Most clients are easy and notes are minimal as long as it looks nice and tells the story so about 60-70% of projects that I edit have only 1 round of minor notes.. that said, we get the occasional ball-buster who wants to micromanage it and has 20 tiny notes but if it goes over 2 rounds, you'll get paid extra and we bill them extra.
Also, I'll provide a script.
please include 3-5 links of videos you've edited to be considered.
