Global Health Corps (GHC) is a young start-up organization which aims to mobilize a global community of emerging leaders to build the movement for health equity. We provide opportunities for young professionals from diverse backgrounds to work on the frontlines of the fight for global health equity in year-long fellowships.
The GHC team consists of 8 people – 5 in New York City and 3 in Africa, plus a cadre of dedicated interns and volunteers. We operate like a start-up and are very fluid, efficient and creative.
We are looking for an experienced web-application developer to help us build a system to organize and manage our fellow selection process. We are looking for someone who can design a system that can help us streamline the management of data, communications, and logistics involved in processing thousands of prospective fellows.
The fellow selection process includes four stages: application submission; application reading and judging; interviews; and finalist processing. Global Health Corps received over 8,000 applications for 90 open positions in the 2012-2013 fellowship class.
We use an online application system to receive fellowship applications. The system is designed and hosted by a third-party vendor, Wizehive. In past years, after receiving applications, Global Health Corps has relied on a variety of Excel documents, Google spreadsheets, and Google documents to organize the judging of applications, scheduling of interviews, and selection and processing of finalists. Managing applicant data, as well as organizing the efforts of application readers and interviewers is a cumbersome process currently and requires hand-entering and recopying significant amounts of data into Excel and online tools.
Note: this is a contracted position.
Please send a cover letter with the subject “Web Developer.” Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We hope to fill this position as soon as possible.
