Job Description

NOTE: Unless your application shows clearly that you have read this brief then it will be rejected. Please do not send a recycled cover letter. You will need to look at the existing site to be able to make a considered application
==========================================
We have an existing website that has been pieced together over the years with bits and pieces added here and there, and it has been done using Dreamweaver using basic tools. No CSS,no content management. Just tables on blank pages with text and the odd java or php scripts integrated here and there

We are adding an online shop and will be sticking to the standard shop template. We thus want to re-author or main site to match the online shop template more closely - it doesnt have to be exact! We dont have the time and skill to get it perfect.

The obvious solution is to use a CMS like Joomla or Wordpress but I have reservations about this because the time I spend learning how to use either is just as difficult forme as working in Dreamweaver

Also the existing site has certain php scripts integrated into it (contact forms and so on) which I dont want to have to have re-done from scratch to work with a CMS system. I dont have any time to spend on this myself - I want someone to design it, transfer the content and set it up ready to go - bang!

I am not rejecting a CMS system outright, but if its going to work it has to be a turnkey operation, i.e. I need the end product to be a working site with all content incorporated

At the moment the site has EXTREMELY good SEO - we are top or second in most search engines for our product. I have reservations about transferring this to a CMS based site - can that be done?

Finally we need to be able to transfer users relatively seamlessley to a subdomain and back from the main site. the subdomain being the online shop. Do CMS based sites allow this?

Therefore we want someone who can take the site and re-author it in the way detailed below so that I can subsequently access it to make minor changes.

I'm sure hundreds and thousands of you CAN do this, but can you do it quickly and economically -that is the question!

Our shop(not fully operational by the way, but just so you get the idea of the template) is at http://shop.rowgear.com

the main site is www.rowgear.com.

Features that must be retained when re-authored
Contact form page (php script)
Company Logo
Red and dark grey corporate colours
twitter feed
ability to submit and read customer testimonials (php) script
ability to show banner or similar, regarding our support for CRY charity
Existing content

Features that can go
Menu structure (changed to fit new template and/or split betwen main menu and a menu at foot of page (like template)

One essential is that whatever page the user is on, he should be able to see where in the site he is, you know the sort of thing, a line that shows

Home>Products>Rowers>Reconditioned>ModelC

so the user can click on any part to return to the desired layer of the submenu etc.

In your application please indicate how long you think this job might take you (by all means give a range) in hours

Thanks
