WordPress + Nginx + Varnish on a Linux VPS

Cancelled

Job Description

Hi,

Please see the attached brief for an understanding of what we require.

Please feel free to ask me any questions that you have or anything that you need clarified.

As I mentioned in the brief, I am happy to work with multiple candidates if you feel that you can only do part of the project, as long as you do your part well.

I would like the project to be completed as soon as possible, but I understand that you may have other jobs, so I am happy to arrange a schedule that is good for you and for me. The only thing that I do need to be completed straight away is that I need the server for my current site setup using the specs mentioned in the brief. I can pay you for this, but you can think of it as a way of proving to me that you know what you are doing.

When you set up my server, I will be checking your programming for best practices, for example a common mistake I see being made with Nginx programming is using the IF statement. Please do not apply if you don't use best practice. I would also like to point out the know security vulnerability that occurs when PHP-FPM is not setup correctly on Nginx. It allows PHP to be uploaded via an image and then executed. I will expect that candidates know programming best practice, but I will be making checks.

Please also be aware of the complexity in setting up Varnish with WordPress. Please do not apply if you have simply read a tutorial about it. I would prefer people with actual experience setting up Varnish and WordPress.

I should also mention that I will need something like postfix installed to send emails from wordpress to the admins.

I would be happy to look at any references or past experience that you have if you can provide it.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Let me know if you have any questions,

Thanks,

Jack
