I'm looking for a talented and experience Wordpress developer to do some customization work on the excellent Geotheme local business directory system.
I'd like to work with someone who preferably has previous experience or expert knowledge of the Geotheme. Or someone extremely confident that they have the Wordpress coding skills to meet our requirements.
I'd like to extend the core functionality with some requirements unique for our website. Brief outline as follows:
1. Create a second tier of 'featured' listings ('premium' listings) which appear at the top of category pages and search results. So there would be three sets of listings in total - premium at the top, featured in the middle and basic at the bottom.
2. If possible randomize the display of the listings within these three tiers so all listing owners have the chance of equal prominence.
The Geotheme creators believe these two things would increase the query time too much and slow the site down considerably, but I'd like to know if it can be done.
3. We'd also like to fin a way to allow business owners to add separate listings in separate categories but pull company information from one main listing - and pay for all listing renewals as a block. At present a company owner can only add one listing to different categories. We want to charge the company for each additional category and allow them to submit different description, images and weblink for each category but duplicate all other company information from the core listing. I would suggest adding new fields to the listing order form and dashboard editor, so when they add a new category, they have the option to add a bespoke description etc which will be appear under the company in the relevant category. It is a little complicated but think something like this could be done.
I would provide a more detailed brief of these ideas when required. For now, I just need advice on whether you have the skills to achieve something like this and an approximate guess on how much this might cost.
When applying for this job, please quote "Geo Dev" so I know you have read and understood the brief.
