Hardware Engineer needed for PCB Layout of Embedded System
We are creating a musical synthesizer, and need a hardware engineer to assist with the printed circuitboard layout and testing.
Our product is a musical synthesizer, which is an embedded system that uses several physical inputs to trigger sounds. The sounds are then modulated into an audio output (for headphones / speakers), and are also sent to another synthesizer or computer through a USB MIDI output. There are configuration buttons and an LCD display which allows the user to configure the settings for the system.
From an electronics hardware standpoint, it is similar to what you would see here:
We are currently developing a prototype using the Beaglebone Black embedded system prototyping board, along with its audio expansion board. (note: we are running linux on this board). For production, we want to create a version of this board with only the components that we need (along with the few minor additions of an LCD display and input keys). We can make the specifications for the design in-house, and can also provide functional prototypes using the BeagleBone Black, built on our own software. Unfortunately, we don't have the capabilities of producing, testing and debugging the production boards inhouse. The job should not be overly difficult, because all of the development boards that we are using are open source.
