Interview Transcription 53 minutes

Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.

Job Description

Looking for someone in the Philippines (or elsewhere) with above-average transcription skills. (I would like to see an example of any interview transcription work you've done.)

I have a 53-minute interview that needs to be transcribed. It need not be verbatim, hence the "you knows, mm-hmms, uh-huhs, unh-huhs, okays, yeahs, yeses," etc., can be left out unless they seem critical to the context of what is being said (such as answering "yes" or "no" to a direct question).

I'll pay $12 flat. This should take a very seasoned, quick transcriptionist no more than 3-4 hours to complete. I will send over an example file.

*Neither speaker needs to be identified. Simply triple-space in between each speaker.

*There should be double-spacing after each period/end of sentence.

*There should be a comma in between compound sentences: "I went to the store, and then I came home."

*There should be a comma, or commas, between independent clauses: "I went to the store, I came back home, I rode my bike, and then I took a nap."

*An [inaudible] tag should be placed where the audio is unclear.

*A timestamp should be placed after an [inaudible] tag., e.g., [inaudible] [0:09:34.0].

*A [speaking at once] tag should be placed if the speakers are interrupting each other and speaking at the same time, and a timestamp should be placed after it unless the speech can be accurately transcribed.

I know, it just makes--

[speaking at once]

I think you're--

Me want to get started--

Right about that--

(I prefer the dashes to be placed at the end of each interruption with no spacing between the last letter and the dashes just as above as well.)

*There should be no spacing between em dashes: "I think we should--did you think--I definitely think we should go to the store."

*The document must be spell-checked.

*Please do NOT apply if you do not have interview transcription experience. I need the file back in 24 hours or less.
