Classy data visualization
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
I'm looking to have the attached spreadsheet improved upon, both graphically and with a bit more robust data.
I need two graphics:
1. A weekly report (the right-hand chart in what I attach here) that looks a bit less like an Excel chart, a bit more like a nice graphic. But it needs to be idiot proof--punch in the numbers in the correct row, and you can copy and paste the graphic into a church bulletin. IN ADDITION to what you see in this chart, I need functionality built in for showing not just last week's giving (1st offering regular, 1st offering PAR, and 2nd offering) but also the previous two weeks. So, 6 bars in total (with 3 of those bars having two levels, the regular vs PAR giving stacked up).
2. Our church's fiscal year is July 1 to June 30. I need a monthly report (resembling the left-hand chart in what I attach here, but not really) that gives a fiscal year snapshot. Find me a thermometer, or even better something less cliche. Allow me to put in the following numbers:
a) Full Year Budget - present this graphically as its own piece
b) Today's date, from which Excel calculates...
c) The year-to-date budget we should be at (so, if three months into a $300,000 budget, the line we should be at now is $75,000).
d) Where our giving actually is by that date (for this example, say, $85,000).
From this, the second graphic needs to present all the above data, and most especially, needs to show the variance in where we are YTD compared to where we should be. If we're in a surplus like $85,000 (when we should be at $75,000), show me a graphical plus sign or something. If deficit, show me a minus sign.
Both of these graphics HAVE TO WORK IN BLACK AND WHITE.
Looking forward to hearing offers.
