Job Description

To create a simple device that will measure the temperature, humidity and ambient noise (sound level) levels and store these readings in an online database.

The device should be based upon Arduino Uno or Nano (Nano preferably) platform combined with a standard Ethernet shield.

The device should take a reading of
1. Temperature (Celsius)
2. Humidity (relative %)
3. Ambient Sound level (decibels)

A reliable reading should be taken for all 3 sensors and stored to a simple relational database against a time stamp at 5 minute intervals.

Alternatively, the data could be written to a Google Spreadsheet.

Suggested hardware:
1. DS18b20 temperature sensor
2. Electret microphone & amplifier module
3. DHT11 humidity sensor

The simple relational database could be MySQL or similar technology. We can provide hosting & server if required. Alternatively, please write to a Google Spreadsheet.

The device should connect automatically to a network via DHCP and begin polling the sensor server within 1 minute of startup.
