italk is an program that already has a life as a desk top application for Mac and PC. It is written in LiveCode
The purpose of italk is to help communicate information across literacy barriers.
We use it in the Northern Territory (Australia) specifically to help communicate information to remote Aboriginal communities, but it can be applied across all languages and cultures.
italk is designed to make it easy to narrate stories in different languages. Typically the stories in the italklibrary are narrated in English and in an Aboriginal language. The user clicks forward through pages and can listen to the story in their first language, and in English.
To use italk users subscribe and download the program, and can then download existing italk stories.
So while there are a lot of story making apps out there, our niche is an app that enables the user to create and listen to stories in two languages.
Download italk at www.italklibrary/subrscribe to experience italk. First download the software, then download a story (eg The Loan Shark http://italklibrary.com/stories/th
As the mobile app will need to be compatible with the desktop application we will need to re-write the desktop app, so for effieciency we are looking for a developer who can use LiveCode, or at least a language that can be used across MacOS, Windows, IOS and Android. Good luck!
