I am an IT Technician, however I require some expertise in Advanced data recovery.
I have an external hdd that has failed to get access to.
It is a 3.5" external hdd, HP SimpleSave.
- WD 1TB - WD10EADS-11M2B2
When power the unit up, it powers on for a few second and shuts down. This indicates to me there is a issue with the enclosure hardware.
I have pulled apart the enclosure and have removed the HDD and connected direct with my pc.
I have let windows auto-configure to it. (win 7).
Windows sees the drive as a blank drive with all unallocated space.
However, from owner information the drive contains saved data, possibly several GB of photos.
I have tried using 5-10 different software titles to recover data using partition recovery and data recovery methods. None of the methods that I have been successful with in the past don't even work,
I have looked at the HEX data on the drive, and there is information there, I calculated there is approx 50GB based roughly guessing the number of sectors with information.
Proceeding from the 50GB the drive is empty.
So essentially, I can see there is something there, however I have not been able to recover / extract the information yet. The file system is NTFS, however I cant seem to read it.
Job / Payment:
If you can assist me in recovering this data successfully, you will be paid for your efforts.
I need someone that is an expert at data recovery that can consult in relation to recovering the data. As the drive is still readable and does not seem to have any hardware issues, I believe a software recovery is still possible.
