The inspiration to create the best kibble possible evolved out of The Brothers Complete Family's experience with the dog food industry over the years as proprietors of The Doggy Store in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After observing the effects of a the wide variety of dog foods that they sold in their store on thousands of their customers dogs over the years, while researching everything they could find on the existing standards of dog nutrition, they came to believe that the level of nutrition in commercially available dog foods could be improved - SUBSTANTIALLY. The family made the decision to commit whatever assets and effort were necessary to design and produce a dog food that would far exceeded the nutritional levels and health benefits of existing dog foods.
Their goal was to make a kibble dog food as healthy and nutritious as it could possibly be, and provide it to the country at a cost that was reasonable. This required them to be deeply and intimately involved in every aspect of the process from formulation of the food, to the production, packaging, storage, and eventual distribution of the finished product.
As a starting point, they focused on using only human grade, highly nutritious ingredients that were sourced in the USA. Then, to increase the potential of their food to promote healing and generate overall health, they incorporated advanced nutritional concepts into their dog food. These 'wholistic' pathways to health are little understood, omitted due to cost, or provided partially and ineffectively by other manufacturers, but when implemented effectively they are incredibly health producing. They include 'selective prebiotics' and 'encapsulated probiotics' combined with nutrients that are intricately balanced in relation to one another (instead of random quantities that simply fit in between the high and low limits that AAFCO recommends). This unique 'wholeistic' approach in the world of dog food, which sees the various systems in a dog as being inextricably inter-related, and address them as a synergistic whole, is proving to be extremely effective in restoring dogs to health and supporting vibrant health thereafter.
Brothers also took into consideration the impact that selling their food through the normal distribution channels would have on their product. While normal distribution would mean higher exposure and higher sales with less effort, it would also mean their food would be sitting in hot distribution warehouses for many months (often 3 to 6 months like other commercially available dog food) before getting into the stores; and the middlemen would tack on additional costs that would increase the price of Brothers without increasing it's nutritional value to dogs. So they decided to market their unique dog food directly to their customers through the Internet as a part of their commitment to excellence.
