We are developing a rich Web client-based DICOM image viewing and annotation application in an academic open source project that will support a broad range of biomedical applications and users nationally. We are seeking the help of an energetic developer with experience in DICOM programming who can work with our team to continue development of the back-end infrastructure, which includes an image database (dcm4chee), a processing pipeline to load images and create compressed image objects, and Web services such as processes to read/write DICOM segmentation map objects. The candidate will also implement a plug-in architecture so image processing modules can be added to the system. The system code is in Java and uses all open source components. The candidate will also set up and run software QA for the system code.
Qualifications: (1) Experience with DICOM development and DICOM databases, especially dcm4chee, (2) at least 2 years programming experience in Java, (3) at least 1 year experience in database programming with proficiency in SQL, (4) experience with software QA using systems such as Hudson, Jenkins, etc., (5) familiarity with basic linux server administration tasks, (6) must be able to learn new programming skills and open source toolkits quickly, and (7) must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Desired: Experience in image processing, experience with rich Web application development, restlets, service oriented architectures, and familiarity XTK and VTK is desired.
