Retirement villages/aged care facilities require accreditation and certification. This accreditation is supplied by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. (http://www.accreditation.org.au/)
The relevant issue is Standard 3
“Standard 3 is about your lifestyle. Meeting this standard means that:
your independence is maintained
your privacy, dignity and confidentiality are respected
you are encouraged and supported to participate in leisure and lifestyle activities
you are encouraged to participate in decisions about services the home provides
you are encouraged in your cultural and spiritual life
you understand your rights and responsibilities.”

I require an in-depth white paper that explores these issues and how implementing H&F can address them.
The paper structure should read as follows:
1. What standard 3 means
2. Why it is one of the most difficult standards to reach
3. What is required to reach it
4. How the H&F program can assist in doing this.
