Proposal Writer Technical Writer
About the Job We are seeking a RFP Proposal Writer with experience working with IT companies. The individual will have responsibility for overall proposal management and team collaboration. The initial proposal will be a large multi-year contract with a large organization to provide a complete array of products and services, such as staffing, IT Services, hardware and software products. Storsoft will provide a graphic designer to develop diagrams, graphics and other needed components of the proposal. During proposal efforts, the position will have end-to-end responsibility for the proposal process and as such, we are seeking an individual with an understanding and experience in proposal management and proposal writing methodologies. Interspersed with proposal writing, this project also involves collecting, writing, and editing technical information to produce succinct, readable documents for audiences with varied levels of technical expertise. The proposal writer shall possess strong experience writing government proposals, and knowledge of capture management. As a Proposal Writer, you must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately in translating complex corporate or product-specific jargon into terms easily understood by a general but astute audience not necessarily versed in those terms. The ideal candidate will be eager to become intimately involved in the planning and execution of company goals, including preparation of proposals for new business, business analysis, documentation, and a variety of activities that require an innovative person who is motivated to learn and grow with the company.
Collaborate with proposal team members to ensure timely internal receipt and review of all proposal materials in order to strictly adhere to proposal schedule Ensure that proposal content and formatting is compliant, persuasive, and succinct Coordinates with other functional teams as needed to ensure production, quality control and past performance requirements are met Write proposal sections and edit proposal materials for consistency, typos, and grammatical and spelling mistakes Create cohesive, highly-effective, visually-appealing documents with varying formats and structures. Write and edit based on project-specific requirements, as well as compiling and editing work of collaborators within a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines Analyze solicitations for requirements, identify gaps, inconsistencies and questions and be able to map Storsoft's experience and capabilities to the solicitation requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to elaborate on a broad scope of activities. Ability to work independently or in collaboration with other team members at every corporate level to meet project requirements and expectations Ability to communicate effectively with audiences consisting of a wide variety of technical, operational, and management personnel. Technical knowledge and/or proven continuous willingness to research and develop an understanding of the required project subject matter. Proven ability in developing and documenting solutions to complex problems that require the use of ingenuity and creativity. Experience working with Microsoft Visio or Apple OmniGraffle (or other diagramming tools). Ability to apply experience in Microsoft product suite, including MS Project, MS Office (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Technically capable with new tools and related technologies supporting the corporate home office (specifically capable of computer related activities on the Apple Mac, or MS Windows platforms). Familiarity with Adobe suite of software (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) is a plus.
PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:
Though this posting is for a Proposal Writer, the candidate will work remotely on project.
