Ongoing Brazilian Portuguese translation for consumer website, iOS and Android apps
We have had our website, WeHeartIt.com, and iOS and Android apps, both called We Heart It, translated into Portuguese (Brazil).
We need an experienced translator who can provide translations for us on an ongoing basis as we add and revise content. We currently do frequent, small updates, generally of under 20 strings, every few days, and you would need to be available to translate these within a day or two.
Pay will be hourly.
We use a tool called Smartling to manage the translation process. It is web-based and easy to learn.
You should have at least one of the following:
a) An iOS device capable of running at least iOS 5. This must be an iPhone (3GS or later), iPad or iPod Touch (3rd generation or later)
b) A relatively recent Android device running version 2.3 ("Gingerbread") or later.
The initial phase of the project would involve spending a few hours (paid, of course) going through the site and app thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the word choices made by the previous translator. This will help you keep the tone consistent for future translations.
The site and apps are primarily used by young women, 14 to 25. They are quite popular in Brazil, and worldwide.
We need someone who can start immediately, as we have some strings that need to be translated now.
