WEBSOFT Bidirectional Design
WEBSOFT is a web based resource management solution. Users can book resources (desk space, conference room, parking etc.) thru web or Outlook add-in. That makes WEBSOFT bi-directional. Users can create/modify/delete booking of resources either thru web page or thru an MS Outlook add-in.
2.1. Users can create/modify/delete bookings from web page
2.2. Users can create/modify/delete bookings from MS Outlook using WEBSOFT add-in
2.3. Administrator can view/modify/delete bookings only thru administrator interface
2.4. WEBSOFT can be deployed in 2 ways.
2.4.1. When WEBSOFT has access to MS Exchange.
18.104.22.168. Booking requests (create, modify, delete) from web page and Outlook both will first go to WEBSOFT Server (WBS). WBS will in turn create/modify/delete appointment item in the MS Exchange server and updates its own backend database with same information.
2.4.2. When WEBSOFT doesn't have access to MS Exchange.
22.214.171.124. Booking requests (create, modify, delete) from web page will go to WEBSOFT Server (WBS). WBS will then create/modify/delete calendar item in its own backend database with same information.
126.96.36.199. Booking requests (create, modify, delete) from Outlook add-in will have 2 following actions
188.8.131.52.1. The request will go to WBS. WBS will then create/modify/delete calendar item in its own backend database with same information.
184.108.40.206.2. Outlook will create an appointment in the Exchange server on its own and WEBSOFT has no control on this activity, hence any manual modification of this calendar item thru Outlook can't be synchronized with WBS.
