GUI interface to send ASCII code via TCP/IP (Telnet) session
Looking to create a GUI interface that can control equipment via TCP/IP?
We have several products that have a TCP/IP port but only accepts commands
via Telnet (no build-in web server).
These devices also accept a lot of configuration commands.
I’m only interested in matrix switching and NOT the configuration functions.
These devices are matrix routing switchers. For example; an 8 Input and 8 Output switcher
has 64 possible routing configurations.
In the setup, need to specify the IP address of the device and the port (generally 4001).
Need a GUI that has 8 boxes on screen left to represent the Input sources
and 8 boxes on the right for destination devices.
Note that the number of boxes are dynamic. As few as 8x8 and as many as 64x64.
The GUI should be dynamic and scale accordingly.
Each box should accept a user label. This information can be called from a .txt file.
Using the GUI you connect a box on the left to a box (or boxes) on the right and then click a button TAKE.
Which will then send the command to make the switcher.
A sample command to switch Input 2 to Output 3 is
The format is xBy.
.=end of command
There are a few additional commands like ALL, Power on, Power off, etc.
Note that I put in $5 for the budget to get this job posted.
I have an estimate from "a friend" but the amount is to high.
