I am looking to place 2-3 Technical Writers on my team for government supporting contract work. This is a part-time (15-35hrs/wk) role with flexible hours and the ability to work from home--it can work around your current work schedule, but must meet deadlines. Contract will be up to 3 months, with possibility to extend. Because this work is on a government project, you must be a US Citizen. No exceptions.

Details are as follows:

As a Technical Writer, you will work with a design team to create instructional and/or performance support training tools. Under the auspices of the Project Manager or Senior Instructional Designer, you will develop and document instructor-led training (ILT), eLearning, and blended learning solutions. The right candidate for this role will possess excellent writing skills and demonstrate the ability to use write training that meets client goals. In addition, the following is expected:

Consult with subject matter experts, PM, or Sr. ISD to identify instructional content and perform audience, task, and media analyses

Develop and design documents to communicate learning strategies, objectives, content outline, flow, technical specifications, and course scope

Evaluate existing training tools and construct reports to summarize recommendations

Participate in visual design and prototyping


Contractor requirements

We are seeking the following qualities in the contractor:

1. Must be able to finish the task within pre-determined timeframe
2. Excellent English writing skills and a familiarity with writing training materials
3. Creative and engaging style that will appeal to broad groups of people
