Ipad App Expert for Development and Deployment Advice
I want to update a mid-1990's Word-based banana field-worker manual and then convert it to a tablet format.
The manual has a 'start-up' pack for initial orientation of new employees and then a number of step-by-step lessons in carrying out various tasks on the plantation.
I want a recommendation for a simple to use but robust platform for adaptation to web and tablet use. The conversion process of the old manual and the development of replacement and new modules should involve drop and drag for the operator.
The end users are field-workers who do not have a high level of literacy, so the use of icons and pictures will be important. It needs to be intuitive with a simple interface.
The first step would be simply to convert the existing manual.
The next process would be upgrade each module and replace the old manual content with a greater content of pictures and videos. It would be desirable to add voice over to save field-workers having to read.
A third iteration may introduce tests for competency on modules preferably with an ability to score and have failed modules reviewed. It would be nice to export test results.
It is envisaged that this would be an app that would be downloaded to an individual tablet and the content available to approved users within the organisation.
It may be something that could be sold for use by other plantations.
I would like to avoid high cost monthly fee options for hosted websites as the target audience is about 10 users in the first instance but would like at a hosted option if this was cost-effective and easy to use.
I want a recommendation for what platform to use and an estimate of what development and ongoing costs might be involved in addition to providing a scope of works for putting the job to tender.
If you have the capacity to deliver your recommended solution, you will be offered the opportunity to provide an estimate of costs.
