Job Description

Introduction
As stated this project based design. Task: Brief, site analysis,
housing master-plan and below ground Drainage Scheme
(small sample of cluster of houses), Drawing project, consisting
of the production of working drawings for Planning and Building Consents.

1) Brief of the project answering clients’ requirement of a 90 dwellings
development at Chertsey (railway Station) Playing Fields Playing Fields.
It will required a short site analysis and assessment of flood risk to the area.
A complete housing master-plan including road access, vehicular and pedestrian
paths and carparking scheme. Main part of this project will be a below ground
Drainage Scheme (using a small sample cluster of houses).
topics include the following: site analysis. Research into flood risk construction.
Use of current legislation for Planning and Building Control External wall and/ or
roof constructions that meet current bylaw standards A range of topics related to
sustainability:
Use of low or zero carbon (LZC) energy sources (biomass, CHP, ground cooling,
geothermal, photovoltaic’s, solar/wind power)
The Code for Sustainable Homes and other energy reduction initiatives
Alternative low energy construction methods. Other….
The above list is purely indicative and you may wish to select some alternative
aspects within the project. But is highly desirable to attain current policies
toward “0 Carbon”.

Scheme Master-plan at 1/500 scale.
Below ground Drainage Scheme at 1/100 scale (sample cluster).
Technical quality of the written content and drawing’s annotations.
You should write an abstract or brief text of ideas with submission of set of
drawings and documents.

ON THE FIRST PART OF THIS PROJECT IN TASK 1
1) Brief of the project answering clients’ requirement of a 62 dwellings
development at Chertsey (railway Station) Playing Fields Playing Fields.
You should have provided a short site analysis and assessment of flood risk
to the area., a complete housing master-plan including road access, vehicular
and pedestrian paths and car parking scheme.
2) Main part of this assignment is a below ground Drainage Scheme
(using a small sample cluster of houses).
NOW YOU ARE GOING TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT BY PROVIDING FULL
PLANS OF THE SCHEME TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY FOR CONSIDERATION
BY PLANNING AND BUILDING CONTROL OFFICERS.
The Second Task Drawing project, consisting of the production of working drawings
for Planning and Building Consents, plus design details and other related project
design information including a written specification of and schedule for the chosen
design details. Presentation Requirements Location OS plan (1250 scale)
+ Brief of the project Drawings should be generated by computer and should
include the following: Ground floor plan First floor plan , all other plans All elevations
Sections All of the above drawings should be at a scale of 1:50 and should be
annotated to include the following information: Dimensions Room names and
areas Construction materials with u values Fixtures and fittings Specification
notes (including Trade information on particular materials) Any other information
required by Planning and Building Control officers.
At this point you are to select 3 details and draw them at a scale of 1:5.
One of these should be of the external wall/ ground floor junction and the other
of the external wall/ roof junction. The third should be selected by you.
