We create apps for events/tradeshows/conferences that deliver content to attendees' smartphones. We provide a native app for these platforms:
4) Windows Phone
and a mobile-optimized web site (web app)
We have a CMS that allows our customers to upload their content. The apps on the smartphone use a proprietary protocol to talk to our socket-based streaming server. The protocol is documented.
The content consists of a set of files and a sqlite DB that are stored on the app so attendees can still view content when they are offline.
The taxonomy of the UI is a tree of menus, based on a magazine-issue-article model. Each article is an HTML/JS/CSS page.
You can view an example of the web-based app at:
We have a prototype Windows Phone app. We need to complete the port to Windows 8 and submit the app to Microsoft.
If this is of interest to you, let me know your rate and your availability to talk about this further.
