Concept Artwork for Indie Film
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
I am an independent film-maker working on adapting a play I had performed in London a few years ago. A film script version of the play is now complete and I am now hoping to build a portfolio of material to pitch it to various people. Part of the portfolio is a couple of pieces of concept artwork. The film revolves around crime iconography (guns, blood, style etc), so experience in that field would be great.
An example of the style I'm after is attached. These images are a collection of images produced by an artist (credit: Bin Li) for an upcoming short film.
I have 2 concept art pieces I wish to pursue. NOTE, that the pay rate is per image, so the total pay would be $130 if both pieces are completed. The first image regards two characters looking out upon a sparse marshland. One of them is tied to a chair, whilst the other rests a gun on his shoulder. The second image is inside a derelict warehouse with four characters. The warehouse is littered with old film props and fancy dress costumes. More details will be given after the application phrase.
I'm never restrictive in all my work I do, so I'd be happy for you to be creative rather than me restricting you.
Previously with artists we generally have a few back and forth e-mails to make sure we're on the same page. We then usually get a real rough draft down so that effort isn't wasted if it's going down the wrong path!
The idea with this concept art and the other materials is to pitch to investors. If successful further artwork will be needed for the rest of the promotional journey.
Feel free to ask any questions you have. The film is a black comedy and I'm not looking for cartoon or overly bright/vibrant colours, rather a bit more of a gritty and hardened look.
