Bookkeeper with real estate accounting / property management background
My company does residential real estate investing. We are involved in the following types of transactions: holding long term rental and lease option properties, holding long term notes on properties that have been sold on installment sales, "flipping" i.e. buying and selling properties without holding them long term, and representing clients in buying and selling. We don't do property management for other people but we do manage our own properties.
Right now our bookkeeping is done primarily with excel spreadsheets. I would like to convert most of it to quickbooks. I would also like to convert to some loan servicing software for servicing our own notes, preferably something that interfaces with quickbooks.
I would like help with:
1 - Converting over to a new and improved quickbooks based accounting system
2 - Figuring out which software to use for servicing our own notes
3 - Maintaining ongoing bookkeeping
I feel somewhat that I don't know enough to know what questions to ask or where to start in this process. If you are qualified for this job, please let me know how you recommend that we proceed.
