Job Description

Looking for an Industrial Designer to work with a team in San Francisco on a project to create an exciting new multimedia computing appliance.

Responsibilities:
-Leading the creative process, including facilitation and participation of concept ideation, brainstormoing and creative discussions to develop design concepts
-Consult with multi-disciplinary team members to establish product requirements
-Analyze the intended use of product and user preferences according to audience requirements
-Research cost, properties of production materials and methods of production to identify the sustainability and availability of materials
-Direct, coordinate and execute the preparation of design concepts, sketches or models for approval
-Test the design concept by computerized modeling or physical hands-on testing of models- Build prototypes to project specifications
-Work with design technology to prepare specifications and guidelines for production and to construct prototype of design
-Integrate user experience, human factors and ergonomic considerations in product designs

Qualifications:

-University degree in Industrial Design, Architecture or Engineering
-1-3 years of experience practicing as an industrial designer
-Deep understanding of ergonomics
-Genuine interest in consumer needs and behavior
-Excellent concept visualization and modeling skills including hand sketching, 2d drawings, 3d modeling/rendering and offline prototype modeling
-Proficient use of current and relevant design software
-Ability to interpret relevant design trends and consumer insights into compelling, brand-appropriate design concept
-Understanding of brand identity and positioning in relation to product design
-Experience working directly with both domestic and overseas manufacturing vendors an asset
-The desire to work in a fast paced environment with demanding deadlines
-Proven ability for strategic thinking and passion for innovation
