Writing for plastic surgery clients

Dear talented writers,
Our company works with website developers by providing content for their clients. One of our developers is heavily involved with plastic and cosmetic surgery practices from around the country. The developer builds the sites; we write the content. In short, business is good, and we're in need of an additional writer to help us write content for the aforementioned practices. Specifically, we're looking for someone coachable who is flexible and willing to learn the specific style of writing required for these clients. Please note, we'll likely be choosing several candidates at first and then narrowing them down to a final choice.
— Writing will involve a mix of page content, blogs and articles
— Though dependent on the content, word-counts will range from 250-800 words
— Contractor-based position
— For individuals, not agencies or companies
— Pay can be word-based or hourly
— Pay is negotiable based on experience and skill level
— Expected time commitment is about 5 hours per week to start, but increasing once you learn the appropriate voice and style and are more "hands-off" (i.e., your work requires minimum editing time)
— In the long run, it may turn into a full-time position for the right candidate
The Ideal Candidate
HARD SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
— A degree in journalism or a similar field
— 18+ months of professional writing experience
— Background knowledge in medical writing or the field itself (such as knowledge on general anesthesia)
— A proficient command of AP style
— Is a native English speaker
— Is preferably U.S.-based
— Ability to take and apply constructive criticism (vital!)
— Versatile writing style
— Doesn't take him/herself too seriously and is able to laugh with us
— Maturity (you'll be writing on topics such as breast augmentation and liposuction quite frequently)
Our goal is to deepen our figurative writing "bench." The candidate will be guided directly by our account editor who heads up this specific client. She'll teach/edit the specifics of the voice and style required by the client. As our confidence in the contractor grows, so too will the amount of writing opportunities (if the contractor wants them). In the long-term, there will be an opportunity for employment for the right contractor.
