iOS Game based on pitch and volume detection of voice input
Noland Labs, LLC is a Dallas based consulting and software development firm looking for an iOS developer for an iOS game developer for a short term (3 to 6 month) project.
Noland Labs, LLC is developing an iOS application for a segment of the medical industry. At the most basic level, the application will use the built-in microphone of an iPad to record speech input of the user. The application should be able to analyze audio input and provide real-time feedback on the pitch, volume and duration of the input signal. A simple game layer should be used to encourage the user to provide input audio at a designated pitch and volume. An extremely simple example of game feedback would be an animated cartoon face that begins to smile as the input audio approaches the desired pitch and volume, and likewise begins to frown as the input audio begins to fall outside the range of desired pitch and volume. The goal of this simple game example would be to keep the face smiling.
The right developer for this project will have several years experience developing applications for the iOS platform, comfortable with basic digital signal processing and basic animation technologies and techniques. We are looking for sophistication in animation resembling that of games like Angry Birds, without the physics logic. Having previously developed an iOS application and successfully submitted it to the App Store is huge plus.
This is a work from home gig, but you must live in the Dallas area to attend occasional progress report and demo meetings. Most meetings will be held in the early evening or on weekends, so it's OK if you have a full time job already. The right candidate will be able to devote at least 12 hours per week to this project.
You must have excellent written and oral communication skills, a professional work ethic, and be able meet deadlines with minimal day-to-day oversight from Noland Labs.
To be considered for this opportunity, please respond to this posting with the following information:
