Research transcription assistant
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
I am looking for someone to write the first drafts of research interview transcripts. I have a full-time job and write transcripts on the side and am looking for an assistant to lighten the load.
I selected "Hourly" compensation, but honestly, we'll have to discuss what's best for you, as this is my first time hiring an assistant. I think it's in your best interest that we agree upon a fixed per-line or per-audio-minute rate, as you will become faster and faster as you familiarize yourself with the interview content, and a fixed rather than hourly rate will keep your compensation stable. Compensation will be comparable to the standard medical transcription entry-level rate.
Turnaround times are flexible. Each interview ranges from 40-90 minutes in length. I will return the transcript to the client within a week and will need a couple days to review your draft, so you will need to be able to turn drafts around to me within 3-4 days.
Good headphones and good internet connection are a must. You'll need to download a couple free, open-source programs. I will provide training on how to employ word expansion to improve your typing speed.
