Job Description

Come join us in making air travel more enjoyable and environmentally responsible! We are building a crowd-sourced database of aircraft information and carbon emissions. Google being your best friend, you will be tasked with researching and recording your findings. If you grew up loving airplanes as much as we did, but you also appreciate the pressing need for environmental stewardship, then here is a mission for you!

SUMMARY

Based on a list of airlines that we provide, please research and enter information on aircraft, cabins, seats, entertainment systems and WiFi for each of the cabins.

DATA SOURCES

1. Acceptable: Amenities provider websites, news articles, blogs, airline forums, Wikipedia, airline websites, etc. as long as their terms of use allow it.
2. Not acceptable: Please DO NOT source any data from SeatGuru, Routehappy, SeatExpert, SeatMaestro, SeatPlans, Airfleets, FindTheBest, AirValid, ExpertFlyers or any other source with restricted terms of use.

INPUT FORMAT

EXPECTED OUTPUT

Please see the example attached. IMPORTANT: Please create one row for each unique combination of airline, aircraft, aircraft version, routing and cabin. There can be several rows for the same aircraft, if the aircraft has various cabins and/or configurations. See attached example.

airline_name:
Provided by us.

airline_site:
Provided by us.

aircraft_type:
- Description: Manufacturer, model (or family or type) and variant (or version). Example: Boeing 747-400.
- Output options: Aircraft make, model and version

aircraft_version:
- Description: Airlines may operate different configurations of the same aircraft. Please create separate rows for each configuration, even if manufacturer, model and variant are identical.
- Output options: The airline's own naming. If only one configuration exists, then please enter the word “Standard”.

Seats_First / _Business / _Premium_Economy _Economy
- Description: Number of seats in each cabin.

Routing:
- Description: Some aircraft may be deployed on specific routes / geographies. In case you find this information, please enter it here.

Some aircraft have different seat pitches within the same cabin. If you only find one seat pitch per cabin, then please enter the same minimum and maximum value. Please do not include toilet seats.
- Output options: Numerical distance (inches) / Unknown

max_seat_pitch:
Description & output options: Same as min_seat_pitch.

min_seat_width:
- Description: The distance between both armrests of the same seat. If you only find one width per cabin, then please enter the same minimum and maximum value.
- Output options: Numerical distance (inches) / Unknown

max_seat_width:
Description & output options: Same as min_seat_width.

entertainment_type:
- Description: Some seats have their own “personal” screen and audio, whereas other seats have their own audio, but they are “sharing” screens with others. Some aircraft may have audio only. Finally some aircraft have no entertainment at all, but hopefully they have a few knobs and levers inside the cockpit.
- Output options: Personal / Shared / Audio Only / None
