I operate a full service accounting and tax firm. I am looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years experience in diversified bookkeeping, payroll processing including quarterly and year-end reporting, and business and individual tax return preparation experience to help my growing firm keep up. I basically want someone to be me so I can work on other things and expand. I need someone to take the bull by the horns and jump right in with little training.
Here's what I have:
So far 11 clients that need payroll quarterlies and year-end payroll returns for both Federal and State. They will need W-2s, 941, 940, State W-2s and quarterly returns for MT, NV, and CO, and year-end 1099s. I do all payroll and bookkeeping in-house so the data is good to go but needs to be reviewed. This will be ongoing each quarter and year-end.
Each of my clients have various bookkeeping requirements. I have a bookkeeper who does most of the data entry and reconciliations. You would be charged with reviewing her work and providing feedback. There are a handful of clients that need more specific attention including invoicing of customers and payment of bills (AP). You will also be involved in this process.
You will be required to sign a NDA and Confidentiality/Solicitation agreement. You will be given direct contact with clients as needed once I feel comfortable with your abilities.
You must possess technological fortitude and be able to use the following:
Windows based PC with dual monitors preferred.
We will use Google Drive to share with each other and clients. You must be familiar with exporting to Excel and sharing via Google Drive.
I have clients that use specific proprietary software. I need you to be savvy enough to learn on your own with limited training. This means you must be a self starter and not afraid to try something new.
I use Lacerte and ProSeries for my tax software. Word, Excel, and Outlook for other tasks. QuickBooks desktop and online for bookkeeping/financial statements.
You must be willing to start at the ground level in order to build a strong foundation and relationship with me. This being said, scrutinize your price carefully to make sure it is the lowest you are willing to go. I am able to hire qualified individuals starting around$10/hr. Remember this is a starting wage until we gain some successful work history. I'm looking for between 10 and 20 hours per week to start. Of course this month will inevitably be more because of all the year-end reporting needed.
I am looking for someone long term. Let me put it this way: I need someone to take care of my firms clients in the event something were to happen to me. I will need someone who can take over. Make sense? (no, I'm not ill or going to die any time soon :) Just want the added security.
