Windows Server Active Directory Setup - Network configuration - Leading to longer term projects - 2008 r2 - Vmware - Exchange
This project is setting up an active directory for a small business. This is the first of several IT projects. Your experience is requested to help ensure that we are using best practices with our setups to ensure easier scalability and mobility as offices move and local and remote workers are added.
The active directory is needed to help facilitate growth as new employees are being added.
The business has about 20 PCs and 5 macs. The are several remote workers that connect to the main location via sslvpn.
Machines are Windows 7 Pro. I'm not sure what the macs are running. It's the latest version of whatever they run. Server is 2008 R2 on a VMware esxi essentials machine. Firewall is a watchguard xtm. Wifi is through ubiquiti box.
After this project.....
We have additional projects that will start after this. Those include (1) switching from an imap mail server to Hosted Outlook or setting up an exchange server (we're not sure which yet); (2) completing storage craft backup image setup and image management, and (3) several vmware projects including p2v'ing a production server, and setting up HA for production web servers across several data centers. (4) Getting data from all devices into splunk for security auditing and troubleshooting.
Ideal IT person....
The ideal candidate for this job is in the US, will submit to a background check, has 10+ years of Windows network administration, and several years of vmware experience.
That's the ideal candidate. If you're great at Windows administration please apply. We can find vmware guys as needed and that is for future work anyway.
This work will start soon. As soon as you can get going.
