Writers from Baha'i and Jain Faiths Wanted
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
I am finalizing/re-editing the proposal for my book now, and found that I need 1+ letters to God from someone of both the Baha'i and Jain faiths.
I only want inquiries from people who have been through something personally themselves, not from people that have only worked with others that have gone through hardships. These stories need to be personal, and it's infinitely more personal if you've actually gone through the hardships yourself. Thanks for understanding!
Interested people, please include:
1)The $5 amount is a placeholder amount. Please let me know what you want to be paid.
2) What you think you'd likely write about
3) The number of words that you think you'd likely write for your letter.
In times of strife, pain and loss, people are often looking for sources of hope or understanding, or simply to feel less alone, or more normal. I've gone through this myself and in due time, I've realized that silence is poison and have become inspired to provide an outlet for others.
As a result, I am writing a book (it's in the querying and proposal stage now) and am looking for submissions for "Dear God letters”. “Dear God letters” are letters or e-mails addressed to God that address a particular aspect of your life or life in general. I feel that the knowledge of God and universal themes of life are relatable to everyone and submissions can be from Christians, Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics or anything in between. They can be signed off by the letter writer, a pseudonym, or they can be anonymous. The letters can be long or short, funny, insightful, or heartbreaking, about life, death or anything in between; all I ask is that they're honest, and can't have been published, uploaded or submitted to anywhere else. By sharing these letters to God, it is my intention that people will gain insight and find strength, peace in their personal struggles, knowing that they are not alone and finding hope in the experiences of others. I will be pitching the idea and book to literary agents, with the intended goal of having a selection of the letters published in a book.
