Job Description

Wireless Monitoring and Control System

The wireless monitoring system enables a set of on/off switches to be monitored at a remote site via a wireless radio link and will replicate the state of the transmitter input switches on the receiver outputs.

The remote switches could a float switch in a water tank, a door open switch on a door or gate, a motion sensor output, or a flow switch in a pipeline.

Transmission range should be at least 500 metres line-of-sight (250 metres in an urban environment), with various antenna options available for increasing transmission range.

The system will consist of a transmitter that can send four (4) independent on/off channels simultaneously to the corresponding receiver. Each input channel will be capable of sensing the state of a dedicated switch (either on or off).

The system should also have a "failsafe" mode that will open all of the switches at the receiver end if the wireless link becomes unstable or is lost.

The transmitter/receiver pair should be uniquely addressable so that multiple systems can operate in close proximity to each other and not be susceptible to interference or crosstalk of any kind.

The system should be immune to electrical interference and electrical storms, etc.

As an option, the system should have an additional 4 back-channels that can control four relays at the remote end. The relays could be used to switch various devices such as water pumps, security lighting, or other devices.

The back channels should also have a 'failsafe' mode that opens the remote switches if radio contact is unreliable or lost.

I will also need a prototype produced and posted to Australia for testing.
