Data Manipulation for Database Import
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
We have 5 Excel spreadsheets which each contain contact information for people we have met at trade shows and other contexts. Out eventual goal is to get all these lists imported into our company's FileMaker database.
The data needs to be massaged and manipulated into the correct format before this can happen.
There are over 10,000 contacts across all the spreadsheets. Any given record/contact has typical contact info as well as a company/account name, and certain notes fields.
Because there are small errors in the account names entered, we need a set of human eyes to identify which contacts should be grouped together into the same actual account name and corresponding account id.
Also each of these sheets needs to have the data split up into 3 CSV files that will import nicely into our Filemaker DB. Accounts, Contacts, and Notes.
Attention to detail is the most important consideration. If any errors on ID numbers or other fields are made, it can potentially cause a lot of grief for our database.
Must have fast internet connection speed to work with us. Must have robust experience with Excel. Experience with using Filemaker is a plus, but not required.
This is estimated to be about 17 hours of work. We are looking for someone this time around, but also would like a go to person for detailed data-entry in the future.
