CSS3 Wizard Wanted!
Closed - This job posting has been filled and work has been completed.
If it is at all evident that you haven't read this posting in its entirety, then you will NOT be considered for the position, and will be politely ignored :)
THIS IS FOR A FULL-TIME POSITION
We're looking for a CSS and HTML expert to help us create our website for our exciting new startup (an online, life-tracking, Quantified Self related application).
This is a unique opportunity in that we would also like our helper to also be our personal tutor. That's right, we would like you to help us learn how to do everything it is that you're doing!
So, in order to do this, we need our wizard to:
-Be a CSS3 wizard (not an actual wizard :P -- although that would be cool!).
-Know how to use Git and GitHub.
-Be fast! We're very eager to get our product up and running, so we're going to be working round the clock to get everything done as quickly as possible!
-Have some experience in tutoring. Or at least somebody who feels they have the personality type that is congruous with being a good teacher. Most of all, that means having EXCELLENT English speaking skills. And equally to that, having a patient temperament and friendly manner. A good sense of humour is also preferable too!
-Be there for us! We want our wizard to work at least 5 days a week (days off must be week days) and be available to us as much as possible. Unless you're taking a day off, taking longer than 24 hours to respond to a message will be seen as unacceptable. If this is something you can't commit to, then don't apply to this job!
-Have an eye for detail and consistency.
-Have an eye for aesthetic perfection. We' want somebody who knows when something doesn't look good enough. We have very high standards for the product we want to create. We want it to be the best! That means designing a site that is on par with the quality of work displayed on such sites as https://www.elance.com/ (please check this to see what we're talking about).
-You must be able to prove your skills. We want to see a portfolio of previous web design work. And as well, anything that demonstrates your eye for aesthetic perfection. While proof of previous tutoring is not necessary, any applicant who can provide such proof will likely have a higher chance of being hired.
-Be conscientious and honest. We'd rather have somebody who will admit to a mistake and work to fix it as opposed to somebody who won't accept responsibility and pretend that something else caused the error. We accept that everyone makes mistakes, so all we ask is that you be honest with us when it happens. This also includes asking us as many questions as you need to if you don't understand what we're talking about!
-Be required to write daily reports of the work you have completed over the last 24 hours, and the work you plan on doing in the next 24 hours. As well, report any impediments to your tasks that you're experiencing or foresee in the future.
-Be willing to communicate with us over voice. For one, we will be conducting voice interviews over Skype. But on top of that, we will also likely want to speak to you directly as the project progresses.
Currently we have two people working on the front-end of the site, and two others working on the back-end. If your application is successful you will be communicating with myself (am largely a beginner in CSS), and our friend (more of a pro) who has up until this point been taking the lead with the front-end development, but is unfortunately only able to work part-time at the moment.
Your role then will be to take the lead with us on the front-end development as a full-time employee!
Though we have set the Estimated Duration to "1 to 3 months", if we get on, you may well be employed for much longer than that (if you so please!).
Thanks for taking the time to read this posting :) We look forward to your applications!
