Job Description

Programmable Gaming Mouse Working Prototype Development

Seeking an experienced detail oriented electronics engineer to finalize the circuit design of a gaming mouse and provide a functional prototype ready for manufacturing. Prior to project disclosure, a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) must be signed. I prefer a local U.S contractor but willing to work with internationals. Please provide references and original work samples performed.

The ideal candidate will take the existing Altium design files and develop a working prototype from it. The candidate will be required to have knowledge of USB HID as well as be familiar with wireless USB radios to integrate into the mouse. The PCB design will need to be designed to fit in the mouse shell. The candidate will also be responsible for the development of the API in either (C or C++) so as to communicate with the device micro-controller and other electronics. The firmware will also require modification to meet the specifications of the mouse.

Circuit schematics are available which will require minor modification to accommodate additional features. The PCB board design must be developed in Altium and developed optimally to fit inside the product design. The firmware must be developed according to the features of the product specification. The mouse software must run under Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista (x86, x64) and MAC OS X and higher.

My expectations for a successful project delivery are:

a. Satisfactory design and proven functionality of the circuit board with
complete schematics.
b. PCB layout according to the industrial design of the product.
c. A complete BOM list of all components used for the product.
d. Component sourcing options and costs not to exceed $50.
e. Fully operational firmware and OS drivers,
f. Functional API for control panel software.
g. Fully functional prototype.
h. All Altium, and source code files delivered.

1. PCB Main Board
2. USB Micro connector
3. USB Wireless 2.4 GHz Transmitter/Transceiver (nRF24LU1+)
4. Microcontroller (Nordic nRF51822)
5. Laser Mouse Sensor
6. AA rechargeable battery with rechargeable circuit and LED indicators
7. Capable of being used as a wireless or wired mouse with the ability to use
switch to turn wireless function off.

Required Skills

- Nordic nRF24L Series of 2.4GHz RF System-on-Chips (SoCs) and
nRF51822 MCU.
