3D triangle meshes registration, matching and alignment
Two triangle meshes with texture are given. Find matched, calculate transformation matrices and apply them to align one model to fit another model.
Models have similar areas and areas that differs after computer deformation. Goal is to find best fit transformation.
3D models format: vertex coordinates (x,y,z), normals in vertex (x,y,z), texture coordinates (u,v). NUmber of triangles in model up to 100 000.
File formats: 3d models in .obj format with texture in jpg file
Calculation time: close to real time
Program prototype (proof-of-your-concept) is needed in 1 week
Results needed: transformation matrices in txt file, obj file with transformed model and best least-square error between models achieved with transformation.
