Hi - we're are looking for a Sydney-based developer to work with us to build a mobile app for kids. The app will be the first of its kind, designed to engage kids 2-4 years old in an educational and fun way. We take an ethical stance - no advertising or annoying pop-ups, material to be developed by trained professionals - we want parents to feel good about letting kids play and learn. We won't be ready to start coding for a few more months, but we are hoping to make contact with rock star developers early to minimise delay between design and development. My team is in the process of designing workflow (wireframes), user interface and creating illustrations and animations. We need a developer to do the technical design, coding work (and functional testing). In terms of complexity, the app will be similar to "The Beast ABC", "Polk Street Press's Goodnight Safari" and "Charley Bear". Very, very simple. It will contain illustrations, animation videos, ability for children to tap illustrations to make choices, track choices made, prompt what to do next etc.. We're looking for experienced and creative freelance individuals (not companies please) - someone with the experience to handle the technical side from start to finish. Experience is essential - we will consider your past experience in finding the right person to work with. We have a miniscule budget, would suit a freelance individual looking for an interesting side project. There is very little budget to get things wrong / to rework, so someone with strong English communication skills is essential, as well as experience in knowing how to develop the app in the most efficient way. We will be guided by you on which technology/tools to use (e.g. what technology stack, database, .net or java, html, jquery etc..). We would be interested in hearing from individuals who want to create original apps that have the potential to dominate the kids category of the Apple apps store.
