Hello, I'm doing web design more then 7 years. I'm expert in Photoshop for any Design related Task (web design, eCovers, banners, UI, UX). I can also slice PSD to pixel perfect HTML/CSS/JQuery, so I can work as front-end-developer. Experienced with Responsive Design, Metro Design Win 8 Style, Parallax Scrolling Effects, Flat Icons, CSS3 Media Queries, Android and iOS 7 App Design, Facebook Covers. My second skill is Architecture - Floorplans Drawing in ArchiCad, Rendering in Maxwell Render and modelling in Google Sketchup PRO. Also doing stitching of panorama photography for Virtual Tours, and programming in krpano software.
During 25 years as the principal IT "guru" and "go-to-guy" for an operations research (OR) consulting firm I have acquired unique and proven insights on the design, development and deployment of applications that are: useful (provide the user with a needed capability); useable (the capability is easy and convenient to use); and used (applications that are useful and useable will actually be used effectively). I have also acquired an extensive toolkit that is useful for fixing existing applications and, more importantly, rescuing development projects that have somehow gone awry. My intent is to leverage this experience in order to provide clients with timely, cost-effective and well-structured solutions to their IT challenges whether those are: new applications, refit of legacy applications, or the rescue of behind schedule/over cost development efforts. I'm committed to the use of appropriate tools ... for example, Cobol, C , C#, or a proprietary 3GL (e.g. Delphi) or 4GL (e.g. Focus) can all be used in appropriate circumstances as the application language. Similarly the database approach employed may be XML, relational, hierarchical, network, or OLAP. In a Windows environment Access and/or Excel may be all that is needed. In many cases, given the client environment, Lotus Domino may be the answer to web applications in lieu of ASP, Java, or .NET. My principal area of expertise is the design and development of databases including the user interfaces required to insure the application meets the "useful, useable, and used" criteria. I'm also committed to making the most effective use of the tools available, regardless of how they are selected (e.g. legacy system, client IT capabilities, requirements based etc.) and guarantee that the tools will never constrain the solution.
Professional and hobbyist developer, with over 15 years of actual development under the belt and 6 years in 'hands-on' management positions (as engagement manager in a consulting firm and then as a CTO in a web startup). My technical experience ranges from desktop (C/C++/C#/Java/VB, scripting in Python/Ruby/VBA), embedded (PIC, ATMEGA, ARM), web (PHP, Ruby on Rails, JS/Coffeescript, HTML5 and some understanding of web design principles and UX construction) and ERP/Business Intelligence (SAP BW, QlickView). These days (2014), I am mostly doing web dev (front-end/back-end) in Ruby, Python and CoffeeScript - they allow very quick iterations and cutting through tons of boilerplate to get to a MVP as quickly as possible. My skills in C/C++ are a bit rusty, but I'll gladly dust them off for an interesting project :) I read Java and C# and don't mind using them as external dependencies, but I do not enjoy working with those. As for my management experience, I have been leading small and large engagements (up to 2 millions EUR) in offshore settings (India, China), both on-site and remotely I feel like I have a good understanding of the communication and management challenges involved in freelancing. As your contractor, I see myself adding value by challenging your requirements, helping you define clear specifications and, if the assignment is large enough to need more than myself as a developer, I can help you screen out other offshore resources and simplify your outsourcing experience.
