I have over 28 years experience working as a consultant for attorneys. In that role, I have been responsible for legal research, case analysis, case management, pre-trial, all aspects of discovery, litigation (jury and bench trials), preparing state and federal trial court pleadings as well as briefs in state and federal appellate courts. I have experience in all areas of the law. I prefer civil law, however, I have extensive experience in criminal law. I taught legal research and writing for 3 years as part of a college level paralegal certification course. I have strong English skills and I am CELTA trained to teach English. My native language is English. I also speak Russian (ILR Level 2 +2), Spanish (ILR Level 1 +2), Ukrainian (ILR Level 1), Dutch (ILR Level 1), German (ILR Level 1), and French (ILR Level 1). I have over 35 years experience as a photographer and 10 years experience as a photojournalist.
I have a lot of experience in 3d world, my passion are the animations, motion graphics and visual effects for television, web and film. You will find that I'm easy to work with, to the point and deliver quality. My credits range from video game graphics, television advertisements, assistant director/lead animation for television series and visual effects director for film.
I have a B.A. in English literature, a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of Toronto, and 13 years of experience in academic writing and grant writing. During my academic career I have published 3 articles in top rated academic journals in my field, and 7 more as book chapters and conference proceedings. I have also presented my work at many academic venues, thus having perfected the skill to present any amount of information in a concise, clear, and engaging manner. During my graduate studies, I also regularly wrote grant proposals, and have managed to secure several highly prestigious federal and provincial grants. Over the course of 6 years, I have raised a total of over 130,000$ for my own academic research. My academic experiences have taught me that I genuinely enjoy the process of synthesizing ideas (my own and those of other people) into a compelling narrative. I started working as a freelance writer recently, and have already had experience writing grant proposals for a small non-profit start-up in Toronto, as well as writing and editing a couple of kickstarter projects. I greatly enjoyed this type of work, and look forward to more opportunities to help others with their research and writing needs. I believe that I can effectively apply my curiosity and skills to virtually any field of writing, editing or research.
