My name is Tina. I am located in the Midwest and have been a transcriptionist since 1999. I have experience in a wide variety of content including, but not limited to, financial, legal, and medical. I've transcribed such things as podcasts, YouTube videos, focus groups, financial analyst meetings, government hearings, interviews, court proceedings, and depositions, to name a few. I have experience with accents. I have my own equipment, and I conduct business in a professional, confidential manner with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. On average, 60 minutes of audio takes about 4 hours to transcribe. My accuracy rate is above 99%. Services offered: Transcription of prerecorded audio file(s) in American English done in Microsoft Word format. (Note: All other languages spoken will be noted as to have been spoken, but will not be translated/transcribed.) Transcripts are done as clean verbatim unless true verbatim is specifically requested. Clean Verbatim: The omission of non-verbal utterances such as uh, umm, ;double-doubled; words and st-st-stutters;. True Verbatim: The uh and umm, double-doubled, st-st-stutters; and other non-verbal utterances are transcribed. I have templates that I use, but if you have your own that you would prefer, that's fine too. Turnaround time is negotiable. Just let me know how soon you need it, and I will do my best to accommodate your request. I would prefer to be paid based on the length of audio file per audio minute. That way I know exactly what to expect to be paid and you know exactly what it's going to cost you to have the transcription done. I would be willing to transcribe no more than 2 minutes of audio as a test without pay. Contact me if you want a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality. Thanks much!!
Objective: To provide 100% accurate transcriptions of audio/video in a timely manner (the time frame to be decided by the client). I will follow whatever style guide the client selects. My profile hourly rate is per audio/video hour, not per labor hour. I have recently raised my rate from $75 per hour to $100 per hour when comparing what work I typically do to what TranscriptionWing charges for similar work. Using their calculator at http://www.transcriptionwing.com/price.html, for 60 minutes of good quality audio with no accents and identifying speakers, they estimate $107.40 for delivery in 5 business days. Typically I deliver transcripts for audio with foreign accents and audio challenges within one day for 60 minutes of audio. Their estimated price for comparable work is $209.40. So my current rate is quite a bargain especially when you consider that I give specialized attention to every client, tailoring the transcript to their specifications instead of using a standard catch-all format that some companies use. Raising my previous rate of $1.25 per audio minute to my current rate of $1.67 per audio minute is still a bargain compared to CastingWords.com. CastingWords charges $2.50 per minute for a 1 day TAT, $1.50 per minute for a 6 day TAT, and $1.00 per minute as their budget rate. I normally have a 1 day or less TAT for good quality audio/video lengths of up to 2 hours (American accents), as either strict verbatim or slightly edited verbatim, completely proofread, delivered in .doc format. I am willing to negotiate for specific assignments, however. My current AWPM is 97 with 99% accuracy. I currently transcribe at around 4 minutes per audio/video minute for good quality audio/video. I am a perfectionist, and I thrive in work where perfection is highly valued. I am steadily working towards my goal of 260 WPM with 100% accuracy. I want to perfect my transcription skills, meaning to transcribe the final copy of an audio/video in real time. The industry standard is one hour per 15 minutes of audio. So my goal is to transcribe 15 minutes of audio/video in 15 minutes flat, with 100% accuracy (correct formatting, spelling, grammar, punctuation). I am a native speaker of American English and transcribe with American spellings. I use _The Oxford Guide to World English_ to help me with other accents. While working for CastingWords, I transcribed British, Australian, and some other world accents. I am familiar with speakers from India. I can transcribe audio with multiple speakers, as I had done for CastingWords. I have specialized knowledge in the Internet marketing, music, mathematics, and education fields. I also have great knowledge of the King James Version of the Bible. In the near future, I plan to earn a degree in Medical Transcription and earn the title of Certified Medical Transcriptionist. Besides my specialties, I have a wide range of knowledge over many subjects, from sciences to computer technology and video games, and many others. I have good skills in researching unknown terms, and I love to learn new things everyday.
