    I am a full-time UK-based arts professional with 18 months' experience working in the visual arts. I have completed numerous projects in this time covering film, animation, sculpture and installation, drawing and painting, sound, performance and outdoor arts. My academic background is in biological sciences and environmental physics. In the past 18 months, I have undertaken three international arts residencies, have had two UK-based solo exhibitions (one supported by Arts Council England) and participated in several international group exhibitions. My work is held in private collections in Australia, Canada, Iceland, Germany, the Republic of Ireland and throughout the UK. I have been published internationally and have presented work at conferences both in the UK and internationally. I have six years of project management experience in addition to my visual arts background. This experience includes fundraising, grant applications, writing publicity materials, creating content for web and print, graphic design, creating copy, organizing conferences and workshops, and managing events.  less

    As a British citizen and having worked as a school secretary for over 20 years, my administration and customer relations skills are outstanding. I owned one of the very first personal computers and my interest in computing has grown along with them. I possess basic HTML skills and on many occasions in my previous job I was called upon to "repair" an Oracle/SQL program which had been developed specifically for my employer and the company were unavailable for after sales service. As a school secretary my grammar and spelling needs to be 100% accurate at all times and I pride myself on my editing and proofreading skills. In my current work I often need to transcribe documents, from short newsletters to multiple page documents, for example Health & Safety policy, from handwritten or amended paper copies. I have many years experience with building and maintaining databases, generally using Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Access. In the UK I used the SIMS school's software package for everything, from student records and staffing through to school budgets and day to day accounts. My working day/week is flexible and, if necessary, I am willing to work long hours for short periods of time in order to complete any urgent task you may have. Conversely, I am happy to take on short one-off contracts at any time. I have lived in Egypt for over 6 years and at the moment the government here understandably do not want foreigners to take work from their own citizens, therefore work permits are difficult to obtain and my current job is in jeopardy. Thus I am hoping to generate enough income from online employment in order to remain in this country with my family and friends.  less

Due to the high-profile nature of this work, I was required to produce quality work without errors prepared within short timeframes. Publishing for public accessibility was on paper, CD-ROM and the departmental website. I am from Canada and my native language is Canadian English so correct English spelling and grammar usage is quite natural for me.
