Not long after that I decided to change “careers”. I changed schools and became an apprentice at my step dads printing company. After graduating from the Amsterdam School of Graphic Technology, I continued my career and came up through the ranks of various printing companies in the Netherlands. In 1998 I moved to San Diego, California and became a prepress manager at a medium sized printing company. During this time period I changed jobs and started working for a big prepress software company from Canada. This job, which I loved, took me all over the USA visiting many different printing companies installing prepress systems used in printing companies. It was a great way to get exposed to different aspects of the graphic industry. Which way is up? To make a long story short. I ended up working for another prepress software company but the recession took the wind out of its sails. They had to let go of people and I was one of them. It became time to asses my situation. I have a ton of experience in the graphic industry. Adobe Creative Suite is no mystery to me. Building websites was also something I had done before for friends and clients on the side. So 1 + 1 = 2 and here we go. Combining best of both worlds. My business philosophy? My life is spend most of the time working. That is why I am picky who I work for or with. Money is important but not everything.
