I am aiming to initially focus on translating tasks (Korean to English and vice versa). I have been working in BPOs and a quasi-BPO for five years now and have undertaken several tasks such as order entry, troubleshooting, technical, billing, and customer service support, process improvement, business management solutions and translating. Thus, I can confidently say that I am adept in the aforementioned tasks. I am looking to expand my knowledge and experience in Odesk and I intend to eventually study SEO and any means of incorporating it with my future projects.

I seek a position in the field of graphic design where I can utilize my knowledge in Digital Media, Illustration, Animation and Graphic Designing. My combined skills and creativity should help me in contributing to the growth within the organization.
I offer a variety of services, with the only common thread being that they're all communications related. So, if you only have a germ of an idea and you need someone to expand on it, research it, write it up, edit the copy and then illustrate it, consider me one-stop shopping. Here is a breakdown of my skills/experience in the various services I'm offering. Cartoonist/illustrator: I've been a cartooning hobbyist my whole life and I've worked on intermittent freelance assignments for over a decade. While I'm especially adept at original character design – particularly animals, aliens or other fantastical creatures - I'm pretty respectable as a caricaturist as well. Writer: I'm a natural-born storyteller and am very skilled at infusing otherwise dull material with a bit of fun. I once delivered a presentation in college about examples of convergent evolution in the social adaptations of termites and naked mole rats that was greeted by gales of (non-derisive) laughter. I've also written science fiction (mostly with a strong biology component) as a hobbyist. Reporter/researcher: I have a bachelor's degree in Print Journalism, served as editor in chief of my student newspaper and have worked with several small newspapers – either full-time or freelance – as a reporter. I'm very experienced with online research and conducting interviews. I'm a bit of a news junkie and follow current events – particularly American political and policy developments – pretty closely. Editor/fact checker: In addition to serving as editor in chief of my student newspaper, I spent three years working as a copyeditor of investigators' reports at a detective agency. This work often involved rewriting the reports of investigators and checking statements of fact against a variety of online sources, publicly available legal documents and surveillance video.

I am available to build your creative content, write your business letter, flesh-out existing copy, proofread, or manage teams of writers. Most recently I've added posting book and some product reviews for Amazon. For more than a quarter century, I have rolled up my sleeves to deliver quality copy to readers and publishers across different platforms including newsprint, magazines, web-based clients, students, and others. As managing editor and general assignment reporter for various publishing companies including Gannett, Pulitzer, Belo, and Lee Enterprises, I have a proven, record of accomplishment that includes teamwork and team management. I have produced interesting copy on a host of subjects from education at the local level; crime; government affairs; courts, lifestyle features, recipes, and technology. I have mentored younger writers and acted as a writing coach and project manager for new and experienced writers. I have authored a short history book using antique photographs for Arcadia Publishing and variously edited and ghostwritten five books since 2011. Most recently, I held a nine-month-long position for an Internet-based enterprise providing more than 100 edited articles of content for Internet users each week by managing teams of writers. I have also used a variety of programs and templates to input content for a variety of Internet-based publishers. New applications are quickly learned. Best of all, I have been a consistent, creative solver of problems. If you have an idea you would like to develop; I am your editor, writer, or content manager. I am a seasoned graphics professional, with 25+ years in the print-production field and a lifetime in the illustration/cartooning sphere. I can do everything... design, layout, photography, editing, writing, illustration, cartooning, cartography, prepress, and more. My work is about 80% print, 15% illustration, 5% web right now... I'd like to bring more focus in on the illustration and web portion (but not ignore the print). I illustrate in freehand and on the computer, and am adaptable to practically any style. I primarily use Photoshop & Illustrator for finalizing illustrations, which may begin on paper or in ArtRage, Painter or SketchBook (via Wacom). You can see daily samples of my work on Facebook; search for "Vin's Vignettes."
I have studied Printmaking in Hongik University, and studying Print making trained me as a very well-organized, due to its complicated process. My job was organizing business meeting with potential business partners and signing them on the partnership contract. I also took orders from clients, coordinated deliveries, and kept tracking of the deliveries. In 2012, I worked as a researcher at a gallery called A.port which belongs to UNESCO. My main duty was translating documents including e-mails and contracts between galleries. I also went to Hong Kong to attend a meeting with I-MOST gallery, on the behalf of my superior.
