From my first job as a copy editor at a daily newspaper, I’ve learned to pare down the excess words that clog writing, whether the writing is news, history or fiction. I have worked as an editor for three daily newspapers, edited for a county in Southwest Ohio and worked as a copy editor/proofreader for a California county Economic Development Agency. I have written and edited many published news stories—two are attached. I also edited several book-length annual reports as well as a web site for the Ohio county.
