I am a lawyer by profession, a member of the Sierra Leone Bar Association, the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), the Society for Petroleum Engineers, the Scottish Oil Club, a lecturer of corporate law as well as an International Human Rights advocate and Public Defender.
I hold an LLM Degree in International Human Rights Law from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa and I am currently an LLM Candidate pursuing Petroleum Law and Policy at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy in the University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom.
I currently provide consultant services to the Petroleum Directorate Office in Freetown Sierra Leone on petroleum rights and licenses, production sharing contracts and policy regulation reviews.
I have strong experiences in Environmental Impact Assessments projects, strategic impact litigation, human rights and the extractive industries, project planning development and research, advocacy on juvenile justice and prisoners rights, drafting, resource mobilization and networking. My experience also covers capacity building and development of civil society organisations, the youths and children as well as the media and press freedom.
I possess strong expertise in project management, capacity building, drafting of oil and gas contracts and research appraisals. Working with both national and international organisations such as the United Nations Development Programme, the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the Equal Opportunities Commission of Mauritius has helped enhanced my research and human rights advocacy skills. Being a lecturer has further improved my capacity building skills and research techniques. I can work effectively in English and partly in French.
My strength lies in helping organisations design effective project proposals, drafting and reviewing contractual agreements and undertaking research in order to ensure greater impact to the target groups and access competitive donor funding. I have been helping NGOs to strategically plan, develop, and strengthen their systems and structures for effective implementation of actions and organisational growth. My forte is measuring impact through research and writing intervention-oriented reports.
