I have more than 13 years of experience as a professional translator and have plenty of experienced working with SDL Trados Studio 2011, Across, MemSource, WordFast Anywhere and Google Translators Toolkit. I have plenty of experience doing technical translations and I have some experience in subtitles. From 1997 to 2003 I was a molding technician and an industrial mechanic for AMP, I was also an interpreter for them. From 2004 to 2009 I worked as a translator for a company in Florida and had to translate a lot of Human Resources manuals and legal and official documents for our Mexican staff, I was also the interpreter they used while giving training, handling meetings, etc. After a pause in translations, I am back as a freelance translator. Since July, 2013 I have proofread 12 manuals (+72,000 words) and translated 36 training manuals (+220,000 words and counting) for a Canadian company mainly in the fields on Diesel Engines, Millwright, Electricity and General Industrial Mechanics. Pretty much all of these tasks involved deep DTP and terminology research prior to their completion. Finally, since the manuals I mentioned where delivered to us in print, we had to scan them. This challenge gave me the opportunity to get familiarized with OCR software (ABBY and OmniPage).
