Having worked for large and small companies with many different roles, I am uniquely qualified to take projects in the direction you choose. I am a believer. I believe in people getting excited about going in new directions and making things happen. I recently became a certified SCRUM master and believe the SCRUM framework is an excellent tool for a team to self-organize and be the best they can be. Throughout my career, I looked for ways to make life better. My many years of experience in Technical Writing and Instructional Design help me see the customer value in products and services. But my best talent is in listening to other people to get the maximum benefit from the time available. Even though I don’t develop software, I have always been involved in the software and hardware development process. I have been able to improve the process on many occasions. I have been directly involved in analyzing business requirements and managing those requirements to delivery. I have used many tools to design and develop User Documentation and Online Customer Training. Some other areas of expertise include Human Resources, ISO 900X, and quality auditing.
www.derek-heath.com A graduate of UCLA’s Design/Media Arts Department, I have 7 years of experience in the design and marketing sphere, helping people comprehensively visualize, create and streamline their brand identity and messaging. I have collaborated with clients including Intel, Coca-Cola, Hasbro, McDonald’s, Samsung and musician will.i.am, developing innovative ideas and campaigns that better tell their stories and expand their market footprints. I have a wealth of experience as a creative “wildcard”. In addition to founding and operating the graphic design and content group, Fine Folks, I draw on knowledge and practical skills gained from work in fields ranging from education to licensing and corporate consulting. I’m intimately familiar with the needs of startups, having co-founded Silicon Beach-based venture consulting company, Upright, and have helped many to develop stories and materials that led to securing investors and partners.
Hello! I am an artist, musician, and programmer/developer. Over the last eight years, I have composed music for a wide range of media including short film, video game, live performances, and various multimedia projects in a multitude of styles and genres. I love composing highly emotional pieces as well as fun, climactic works; I ensure that you feel with each piece just what I felt creating it, and that is important to me. I have a very keen ear for sound, and my studio allows for much experimentation and growth. Art has always played a big role in my life. I have been drawing since I could remember, to be honest. I love working with pens and ink, including various projects such as concept artwork, comics, logo design, etc.; I am pretty imaginative, and these mediums allow me to express just that. I have a unique style and a great knowledge of lighting and shading (from practicing photography) which makes me stand out in this category. On top of art and music, I have been developing since I was a kid (around ten). I started creating video games with RPG Maker, and from there, moved up to BASIC, and further up yet to C++ after just a few years. Creative programming allows me to solve problems that might not become so apparent to the average joe without my background; I see things with an extremely fine eye for detail. Programming to me is just another form of art, and one that allows me to use all three of these facets of my life in collaboration.
