Traveling, living, and doing research in Latin America over 35 years has produced 3 books on El Salvador, a guide to Machu Picchu, two edited books on Mexico and peacekeeping, and dozens of articles on topics from civil war in El Salvador to points of interest in and around Niagara Falls. Along the way, I have acquired skills in resume writing, PowerPoint, and editing. In recent years photography has become a passion, accompanied by a growing portfolio of travel writing.

I am seeking work as a grant writer, a technical writer or a proofreader on a short term basis. I am a scientist and the owner of a consulting company. I have written numerous grants, both private and publicly funded. I am a published author of scientific articles and have over 30 years of both lab and technical experience. In addition, I have web building and a high degree of computer experience. I have been a teacher/faculty member at all levels of education, teaching students from Kindergarten to graduate and post graduate. I am skilled at public speaking skills and am very qualified to develop and deliver technical speeches, both online and on ground.
I have extensive experience as a writer, editor, and researcher. I am a law school student who has performed several legal research projects on a variety of different legal topics. I currently have two academic works pending publication with journals and have written in multiple other formats, including weekly newspaper columns, promotional material, grants (especially for legal and non-profit organizations), and other forms of research. I served as Editor-in-Chief of a research journal for two years. I would be happy to assist in whatever capacity is needed, whether it is writing a grant or promotion, conducting research, or editing and proofreading papers. Additionally, I have sales experience and can provide assistance with writing scripts for cold calling and lead generation as well as actually performing the calls and lead generation. Do you have a book in your head and need somebody to write it down? Do you have a book on paper and need someone to polish it, tighten it up, shape it, make it sing? Are you a merchant with a continuous stream of copy that absolutely has to be bright and error-free? As a copy editor, I write and proofread copy with the precision of a computer programmer or an accountant, in both of which fields I’ve had considerable experience. Nothing gets by me. That’s only the beginning. In my 20-year career as non-profit program manager and back-office polymath, I’ve edited minutes and articles, written successful grants and sales letters, technical documentation, user guides, and financial reports, and designed newsletters and all manner of public relations and promotional materials. In 2009, I retired from the office of a small non-profit adult care community after ten years building the organization’s community support base, level of fundraising, technical and financial infrastructure, and public relations professionalism. My appeal letters increased every year and ultimately doubled the yield of L’Arche Nehalem Community’s Annual Appeal. Since then, I’ve been writing books, building a writing portfolio, as well as pursuing some creative ventures in other fields. My book of anecdotes, The Depressed Guy’s Book of Wisdom, is published by Chipmunka Publishers, London. I’ve been doing a weekly column on writing as the Sunday Editor of Gather.com’s Writing system portal. I’ve done a huge variety of creative writing during these three years, including non-fiction, stories, poetry, and a full-length young adult novel. I would love to talk to you about your project or opportunity. I know I can be an enormous help to your endeavors.

As a semi-retired citizen, I decided to refine my latent writing skills. Toward that end, I spend a great deal of time researching in order to deliver knowledgeable content and/or accurate product descriptions. It is for that reason that I generally do not accept assignments that pay less than .04 cents per word. Since I am semi-retired, I especially appreciate clients who need two to four articles weekly for their website or blog. As a website designer, I believe content and presentation are paramount. My websites continually evolve to include the best old and new-style components.

I know too much stuff to just do nothing. If you don't see it listed here, chances are I've done it I am more than simply drawn to the concept of internet work; after a great deal of consideration, I have now decided that it is my future. My objective, within this model, is limitless, because anything that I don't already know about, I'm eager to learn; those things that I do know about, I'm eager to demonstrate my knowledge thereof.
